Pinwheels for Prevention
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and again this year PCAN is dedicated to making the Newton County Community aware of the reported incidents of Child Abuse and Neglect. In 2009, there were 932 reported cases in Newton County. Again, this year pinwheels will be placed at several sites to represent the number of reported cases of maltreatment to children.
This year on March 31, 2010 pinwheels will be placed at The Newton Federal Bank, on the Town Square, The Church At Covington, The Department of Family and Children Services, The City of Newborn and one large pinwheel will be placed at each school within the county and the PCAN office.
The pinwheels will remain throughout the month of April.
